| Abstract | الأهداف: تهدف الدراسة إلى استكشاف واقع بنية الأسرة القطرية، ووظائفها والأدوار الاجتماعية، وقياس بعض السلوكات التي تعكس فهما حداثيًا أو تقليديًا للأسرة، ومعرفة فيما لو حدثت تحولات في موقف القطريين من الأسرة، وطبيعة تلك التحولات. المنهج: استخدمت الدراسة الاستبانة لجمع البيانات الكمية من خلال أسئلة مغلقة حول مجموعة من القضايا الموزعة على عدة محاور باستخدام مقياس ليكرت الخماسي. خضعت البيانات للتحليل الإحصائي الوصفي باستخدام برنامج SPSS. النتائج: خلصت الدراسة إلى أن قضايا الأسرة القطرية تتوزع بين ثلاث مراحل فكرية مختلفة. اولا، القضايا التي حافظت على الطابع التقليدي كارتداء الزي الوطني، وأداء الصلوات، وقيام الأسرة بوظائفها الثقافية والعاطفية، ومركزية دور المرأة في تربية الأبناء، وأن الأب هو صاحب الكلمة في البيت، وأن أدوار الذكور تختلف عن أداور الإناث. ثانيا، القضايا التي تراوح بين التقليدية والحداثة، وتمر في مرحلة انتقالية كشكل الأسرة، ومشاركة المرأة في توفير الحاجات المادية للأسرة. ثالثا، قضايا بدأت تأخذ طابعًا حداثيًا مثل قبول فكرة الزواج من خارج القبيلة، وإدراك أهمية مشاركة الأب في تربية الأبناء. الخلاصة: لا يمكن وقف عجلة التحولات التي تواجه الأسرة القطرية والعربية عمومًا، ولا يمكن حصرها بين خياريّ الحداثة والتقليد، ويبقى الطريق الثالث خيارًا أمثلًا ومرنًا يعين الأسرة على التعامل مع معطيات الحداثة وفق أسس ثابتة. |

| Alternative Abstract | Objectives: This study aimed to explore the reality of the Qatari family structure, its functions, and the social roles. Further, it aimed to determine whether Qatari family behaviors reflect a modern or traditional view of the family. Methods: The study used a questionnaire to collect quantitative data through closed questions on a set of themes distributed on several axes using the five-point Likert scale. The data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis using SPSS software. Results: Results: The study concluded that family issues are disrupted between three phases. First the traditional, such as wearing the national dress, performing prayers, the role of women in raising children, the father's role as decision-maker, and that male roles differ from those of females. Second, the transitional, such as the family type, whether nuclear or extended, women provide the household material needs. Third, modernism, such as marriages outside of the tribe and fathers' involvement in their children's upbringing. Conclusion: It is not possible to stop the wheel of transformations facing the family, and it cannot be confined between modernity and tradition. The third way remains an ideal and flexible option that helps the family deal with the developments of modernity according to well-established foundations. |
