|Alternative Abstract||The study aims at searching for the narrative structure of the trilogy of Deserted
Alleys (AlAdama AlShemaisy and AlKaradeeb), written by the novelist Turkey AL
Hamad. The researcher has specifically chosen this trilogy because it is considered
one of the novels that greatly affected the formulation of the gulf stories in general
and Saudi-Arabia in particular.
Added to that, it represented a new direction led by many of the new novelists.
The researcher also devoted herself to answer so many questions related to the
trilogy. First of all, the structure of trilogy whether it is classical as it is always
mentioned and also to seek behind the reason of success of trilogy whether its
containment of shocking meanings or its narrative structure that includes artistic or
literature content. Also, this research has been built on structuralism in its narrative
Regarding the structural level, the researcher concentrated on searching deeply in
the structure of literature work and its internal relations and to what extend the
narrative techniques were used for this trilogy.
As for the meaning level، we will dig in the meanings and spirit of the text through
the techniques which were used.
The searcher has explained in the introduction a theoretical preface in which she is
defined the meaning of the narrative structure and gave a rote about the writer of the
novel (Turky AlHamad).
The first chapter was entitled as (The Story and its Constituents), she divided this

The narrative structure of Deserted Alleys Trilogy can be considered a structure
that consumed the modern techniques in a way that added to it some elements of
suspense and excitement.
But, we cannot judge the extent of success of any gulf literature work depending
upon the number of narrative techniques it includes ,as there are other contents
attracts the attention of the reader and it might raise up the success level of the text
even if it was poor in its technical tools.
Finally, the researcher hopes that study opens the door for other literature
researches concentrating on the Gulf literature narrative works, which are considered
an achievement in the Gulf Environment and still considered digested regarding
study and research.
